New Technology

Laser Cavity Detection

To help you maintain and improve your oral health we use state of the art equipment. Among the newest technologies is a small laser instrument called the DIAGNODENT, which scans your teeth with harmless laser light searching for hidden decay.

We can't cure what we can't see!

Locating hidden decay before it destroys tooth structure is a major goal for modern Dentistry. The new DIAGNODENT is a major breakthrough that allows the dentist to monitor the areas below the hard surfaces. The DIAGNODENT allows the dentist to locate hidden decay, and with treatment stop the spread of disease before it destroys the tooth from within.

Patient friendly, especially for children.

This unique instrument provides instant feedback on the health of the tooth. A pen like probe simply glides over tooth surfaces constantly checking the health of the tooth.  A number scale and alarm signals the operator when there are signs of hidden decay.  This new technology is completely safe and pain free.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

We encourage regular dental check-ups, cleanings and home care. Early detection of problems minimize the expenses related to major tooth repair. New technologies take us a giant step forward to helping you achieve the goal of minimally invasive dentistry.

Invisalign. Straight Teeth. No Braces!

The latest technology makes it possible.
Invisalign is the invisible way to straighten your teeth without braces using a series of clear removable aligners to straighten your teeth without metal wires or brackets. Invisalign has been proven to be effective by clinical research and orthdontic practices nationwide.

Upon an initial examination, we can decide if Invisalign is appropriate for you. Treatment begins with taking records of your smile and impressions of your teeth.  Invisalign,  using the latest advances in 3-D computer technology, carefully produces from the models of your teeth a series of precisely customized Aligners. You then wear each set of Aligners for about two weeks, moving your teeth gradually - week by week, until the intended result: straighter and more healthfully aligned teeth. Generally, you visit your dentist no more often than you would with braces and the length of the treatment is about the same.

Invisalign orthodontics now allow most patients to straighten their teeth easily, effortlessly and quickly.  This therapy allows you to straighten your teeth by wearing clear, almost undetectable aligners.  These series of aligners are only taken out to eat and brush and are changed in two week intervals.  Most cases are completed in less than eleven months and you can even whiten your teeth at the same time!

Tooth Whitening

Feeling good and looking great are the most important aspects of modern dentistry.  A bright, white, sparkling smile exudes an air of confidence and leaves a memorable first impression!  New advances in tooth whitening make it one of the most widely acceptable and much-desired esthetic procedures.  Because there are many new options available, it is best to discuss them with us to determine what is right for you.

Take home whitening, paired with custom fitted trays, has seen many advances with the inception of new technology which has made the process even faster, yet more gentle and easier to use.  When supervised and dispensed under our guidance you can achieve remarkable results in less than a week.  Most stains can be easily reversed and upkeep is easy and affordable.

Custom In-Office tooth whitening still remains "la creme de la creme" of whitening procedures for the individual who desire instant gratification along with dramatic results.  This form of tooth whitening can deliver a fabulous, movie star smile in only one hour!  The newest chairside whitening systems integrate an external heat source to activate and accelerate a much higher concentration of peroxide-based whitening gel.  Extensive research and clinical data indicates that whitening teeth under the supervision of a dentist is one of the safest cosmetic dental procedures available.

As with take-home whitening, upkeep is also extremely easy and cost effective.  It is important to keep in mind that existing restorations such as fillings, crowns, etc, will not whiten, thus we can help you to plan how you might integrate new and better esthetic restorations into the picture for a perfect result!

New Dental Materials

Cosmetic advancements include something called pressed ceramics.  This material is great for esthetic veneers and crowns because of the nature of the material.  The layers of porcelain are literally pressed together in the manufacturing process for strength and beauty.  You therefore do not have to remove as much natural tooth structure to get super results and this is a nice conservative approach.

New filling materials include tooth colored, hybrid materials made of resins and porcelains that can be used for routine fillings.  You can now use these materials routinely without sacrificing strength and esthetics of the traditional silver filling material!

Advances In Treating Periodontal Disease

Advancements in gum disease have also made great inroads.  Periodontal disease can now be treated in a majority of cases without surgery.  This is important because periodontal disease has been linked to heart problems as well as other medical concerns.  Administration of therapeutic materials including antibiotics in diseased areas can now be done in many cases and the results are very good.  Many times surgery can now be completely avoided!

Root Canal Advances

Newer endodontic (root canal) therapies include ultrasonics and in conjunction with newer endodontic filling techniques, make endodontic therapy much more efficient with less discomfort.  It is possible to make endodontic care much more pleasant than before and complete many "root canals" in one visit!

These are only a few of the many, newer advances in dentistry that can make your visit to the dentist more pleasant, more efficient and more rewarding!
